On behalf of the Wharton School and the VIC Planning Committee, we would like to welcome you to this year’s Wharton Value Investing Conference. The theme of this year’s Conference is “Projecting 2020: Investment Themes for the New Decade”. The conference is in its 12th year and continues to serve as a forum where thought-leaders and industry professionals can share their vision for how the world will evolve over the next decade, and discuss how investors should position their portfolios to benefit from it. Topics of discussion will include but not be limited to:

  1. Monetary policy and inflation in the US,
  2. Impact of regulation on healthcare and financial sectors,
  3. Rebalancing of power – End of US hegemony? and
  4. Risk management in volatile markets

In addition, panel discussions led by speakers with relevant expertise will explore specific sectors and investing strategies including Energy, Healthcare, Emerging Markets and Distressed Investing. The panelists will review investment themes and long/short ideas designed to capitalize on market inefficiencies.

VIC continues to be recognized as the premier student-run conference on public-markets investing and leverages the knowledge base and relationships of The Wharton School. Each year it brings together over 400 professionals, faculty, and students at the Union League of Philadelphia to engage, discuss and debate relevant topics that face investors at the time.
